All Salty Dog Sailing charters are limited to a maximum of six guests. We warmly welcome children and infants aboard; however, please note that they are included in the total passenger count.

You can book The Best Day on Maui! If your group is larger than six, we’ve got you covered. Our sister company, Wake Maui, offers thrilling adventures like snorkeling, tubing, and wakesurfing. While six guests set sail with Salty Dog Sailing, the rest of your crew can surf alongside on Wake Maui. We’ll anchor at the same snorkel spots so everyone can enjoy the day together—and yes, you can even swap boats to mix things up! It’s the ultimate way to explore the ocean, make memories, and keep the whole group smiling, but most importantly together!

It depends on what you want out of your charter! To get an early start and have a higher chance of experiencing calmer waters, mornings are better. This will get you back in time for a delicious happy hour or dinner in time for sunset. If you want to snorkel and sail into sunset and enjoy your own private happy hour with the Salty Crew, a later sail would be the best to choose! 

We’re biased! The longer on the water the better. Our 6 hour charter is perfect for a slow sail, plenty of time to snorkel with more opportunity to see unexpected wildlife. If you want to experience other snorkel locations off the coast of Lana’i, a longer duration would suit you most. If you are on a time crunch, we can stay close to shore for a 4 hour snorkel or a 2 hour sail. Contact us to chat more in depth about your options! We’ll make it happen for you!

Yes! We have a fridge and ice cooler onboard for you to bring any food and drink of your liking. We provide all glassware and tableware as well.

Please note that we gladly provide the following for our charters:

• 2 Hour: Charcuterie board

• 3-4 Hours: Breakfast or lunch*

• 5-6 Hours: Breakfast and lunch*

• 7-8 Hours: Breakfast, lunch and charcuterie board

If you would like to add more food, please be sure to call us so we can accommodate accordingly!

Wear: Sunglasses, hat, swimwear, sunscreen, sandals.

Bring: Snacks and drinks, towels, cameras (go pros phones etc) cash for gratuity and a light jacket.

Your safety is our top priority. If the weather conditions are unsafe or the seas are too rough, we will contact you before your scheduled charter to discuss the situation. In the event we need to reschedule, we’ll work closely with you to find an alternate time that fits your schedule. Our goal is to ensure you enjoy a safe and truly exceptional sailing experience.

Yes, our captain and crew are part of the service industry on Maui where gratuity is customary. If you think they showed you a great time on the water, they will gladly accept cash or Venmo. If you believe they were of disservice, we encourage you to call our office as we are constantly looking to improve our service and aspire to consistently provide 5-star service.
